How proud would you be?

So I have not been at work or seen the kids I nanny for about 10 days. That is a long time when you are used to spending about 50 plus hours a week with these people. The 3 year old is the funniest child I have probably ever met…so far (meaning my children will probably be pretty funny I would hope) and camera men should follow her around and make an MTV special about her life….Funny material there people I promise…so anyways back to my story…I got to work this morning at 8 am to find out that the 3 year old had tinkled in the bed *(she wears a pull up but it leaked I am guessing) sadly it leaked while her Mimi was also sleeping in the bed with her. Mimi told me later that she thought she was having wet flashes in the middle of the night and got up to dampen her face to cool off, to only realize later that it was not her sweating… ha ha..

but here is the funny part…So the three year old says to me…."Gelly arent your proud and not dissappointed that I went tinkle in the bed?"….

I told her…."Why should I be proud of you for going tinkle in the bed, when you are a big girl and you can use the potty"

She says, "Because I didnt go poop in the bed or the pool the whole time you were on your Georgia bacation.".

sounds impressive doesnt…..wow a whole 10 days… ha ha

My 1st visit to GA

This past weekend I flew to GA from Dallas for Judith’s wedding. It was great to see mom picking me up at the airport, adn it was great to see my family. I went from house to house to city to city to see everyone. I kept the roads hot and thanks to mom for being my driver. Mom and I started my adventure in Dalton, getting ready for the wedding, I had the bridesmaid brunch, and Mamaw and Papaw let me use their car, I had the rehearsal  and the dinner and of course a trip to the Dalton Depot for some fun and kareoke. Then Saturday, mom and I got our toes painted, and I got my hair highlighted and then the wedding took place. On Sunday I was so tired that I feel asleep in church (Dear Lord please forgive me) and then we drove to mamaw’s where I fell asleep in the 20 minute car ride to  Mamaw’s for lunch, Wii time (we were playing that new Wii fitness game), and then some relaxing by the pool time where I fell asleep 2 more times. Got home and then I crashed on the couch at 7:00…That means you know I was tired. Monday we slept late, got up drove to Cumming to see Connor and Alexis. We went swimming with them and got to have fun time by the pool and we ate dinner. I got to visit with Lindsay Smith and Jamey Hollis(soon to all be Hollis) and Cruise Ship Andy…I even made a surprise visit with Danny. Sorry it was 11 pm and you were already in bed…(earlier than my papaw’s by the way…ha ha wink wink…but really I dont think he reads this blog so I am not worried…and really I think I could take him) and then mom and I spent the night at The Ferri’s. We got up (at the crack of dawn thanks to Lexi Lou who wanted to swim at the big pool, first thing in the morning) and we swam until lunch! Mom and I left and drove to Dawsonville, where we got to shop, and I got to see Katie May. Then Michelle called me and she was driving to see her new house, so I got to see it and her as well. Then back to Dalton. After visiting with mamaw’s and papaw’s and mom and dad….I was ready to come back to Texas. I had a great visit, I will see you again in August for my class reunion!

Stop me if you have heard this one….Jesus walks into a Waffle House…

Yes that is right. So in case you didnt know, I flew into Birmingham, Thursday night to be home for Judith’s wedding. So I was really craving Zaxby’s (since we dont have them in Dallas) and I couldnt find one, so I settled for Waffle House (which we also dont have in Dallas). So here is where the story begins.

Mom and I were driving thru Fort Payne, Alabama and I see a Waffle House and I am starving. We go inside and sit at a booth, where I am facing the door. We order and as we are getting our food, a couple walks into the door. The man who sits in the booth facing me, has on a t-shirt, but I can see a tattoo on his right arm, one that appears to be a profile of a man, but I can only see the long hair and the bottom half of the tattoo of the man’s face. As I keep looking at this man and seeing his tattoo, and also as I am enjoying my hashbrowns scattered, double diced….I look again…and I think…Aw He’s a Christian he has Jesus tattooed on his arm….then I look closer (also mind you I was not stairing…I had mom to block my views of looking) and that was where I really noticed it…I really should have figured it out in the beginning but then I realize where I was…

I was in Fort Payne, Alabama…No this "Christian" did NOT have Jesus tattooed on his arm….he had Randy Owens…The lead singer for ALABAMA…so maybe he worships Randy like Jesus…he does in ink anyways….

Only in Alabama…. ha ha ha

here it is to prove what I was talking about, so you can see for yourself how one would be confussed!:

That’s Jesus                                        That’s Randy

Old School pics

April Baker Welch sent me an email with some pics she had found at her mom’s house. These were taken sometime during  circa of 1999 maybe…Well let’s just say I think we have all changed for the better.

This first pic was taken when April and I went to go see Katie at her first apartment "University Commons" in Athens. We got all dressed up for the game, as you can see in our red attire. Notice April’s belly shirt, and she isnt one to just show off her belly, and also notice her black nail polish that I used to bother her about..she wore it before it was cool in Hollywood, I am glad that Matt told her she couldnt wear it for their wedding…Ha Ha Ha…this was also taken during my "violet eyeshadow" days..what was I thinking…?

This next pic was one of many pictures from that day. She only had one to scan, but I have the others at home. First of all let me tell you that we all looked like we planned on wearing such Eastery colors, but that just happened…and second of all, we took the only GA students are allowed bus into Athens (well April and I pretended to be students that day) and we rode and got off at random spots. we had such a great time. I remember one pic of us behind bars, so Katie and I pretended to be sad bc we were in jail pic, another one was from a science lab I am guessing that had these signs that said "caution Asbestos", and the look on April’s face is priceless, and then there was the fire hydrant pic, where I was so embarrassed bc some random man took our pic, and April and Katie were pretending to pee like a dog while I held my nose bc of the imaginary smell…But this pic is from when we climbed this tree and Katie was trying to get her timer to work out perfect…needless to say…it didnt…but we had a great time…Oh what fun college memories…and sadly that weekend was when Aprils’ cd collection got stolen from my car we think….let’s share a moment of silence for those…..

Job security?

So this story happened a few weeks ago as well and I am just now getting to it..Sorry..

So it was one night during the week and the kids and I were out by the pool. I didnt have my suit so I just sat in a chair watching them swim. We were waiting on supper to be ready to go inside and eat! So Caroline (again my 3 three old) she is a good swimmer, actually she is a great swimmer, I mean like a fish…or a mermaid as she would call it. She takes lessons and she can go and go and swim the whole length of the pool and float on her back and dive, and kinda use her arms to swim instead of just doggie paddling. Well that night she was practicing her diving, and the boys were just watching her, just like I was. Well she was going at it, and she had a big belly flop bc she didnt go into the water hands first. So when she got into the water she came up and took her breath of air like normal…and then she started to make this funny sound, and there I was watching her with my jeans/tee-shirt/ flip flops on….well I looked at her and I saw terror in her eyes…so next thing I know….(which I dont remember doing by the way)…I was in the water. I came to her rescue and saved her from NOT drowning. The parents could see me go into the pool from where they were sitting inside the house, they ran outside to make sure she was ok. and she was bc she was laughing but then she cried bc I told her how scared I had been. So we all went into the house and I had to wear my boss’ clothes home. The parents said "I am just glad that you went in even in your clothes."

I told my neighbor that and he said "well at least you know you have job security". I told the parents that "I have heard that when a lifeguard saves a life, he gets a raise". wink wink…

and also that next day I got a new/used blackberry cell phone…so my mom says "wow save a child and get a new/used cell phone?"

Two Sandwiches

So I am very late and telling this story, but I finally had a minute to tell it. So when I first started my job here in Dallas, my three year old (who by the way has so much personality, she goes from being so smart, to sweet to SASSY in 3.2 seconds) anyways Meredith had been pumping her up that she was getting a new nanny named Gilly. So Caroline kept saying "when is jelly going to get here". So she finally met me and it was great. She then told me "My name is Caroline Margaret Hill and I am 3 years old, but I will be 4 on my next birthday", so I told her, "my name is Gilly Ann Hammontree, and I am 28 years old and I will be 29 on my next birthday". She then says….Your name is two sandwiches? I then asked her what did she mean. So this is what she told me.

"Your name is Jelly And Ham and Cheese?"……………………..So I guess from a 3 year old hearing me say my name really fast, it really goes sound like I am Jelly and Ham and Cheese…. So I completely get it…
